This project was created during a workshop led by Pablo Munoz Gomez, focusing on turning a ZBrush sculpt into a polished concept illustration.
After completing the initial sculpt in ZBrush, I performed retopology to optimize the mesh for texturing and potential real-time use. I then hand-painted the textures in Substance Painter, aiming for a stylized, illustrative look.
The design and texture style were inspired by a mix of influences from Portal’s Atlas and P-Body, Claptrap from Borderlands, and WALL·E – blending sci-fi charm with a slightly worn, mechanical personality.
The robot was textured to appear old, weathered, and slightly rusty, as if it had been left behind and forgotten over time – adding a layer of narrative and emotion to the design.
