Description

M1117 Guardian is a U.S. Army 4x4 wheeled armored security vehicle developed by Textron Marine & Land Systems for military police and convoy protection missions. The vehicle features multiple layers of armor protection against small arms fire, artillery fragments, improvised explosive devices, and landmines. Armed with a MK-19 40mm grenade launcher and M2HB .50 caliber machine gun in a fully enclosed turret, plus an external M240H medium machine gun at the gunner’s hatch. The Guardian became widely used in Iraq and Afghanistan for convoy escort and patrol operations, offering superior protection compared to up-armored HMMWVs while maintaining high mobility and C-17 airlift capability.
