Description

BMPT Terminator-2 is an improved version of the Russian tank support fighting vehicle featuring simplified armament and reduced crew requirements. Built on the T-72 chassis, this variant eliminates the side-mounted AGS-17 grenade launchers and their operators, reducing the crew to three members while maintaining the dual 30mm 2A42 autocannons and four Ataka missile launchers. The BMPT-2 incorporates lessons learned from the original Terminator, offering enhanced reliability, reduced maintenance requirements, and improved cost-effectiveness. The vehicle retains its primary mission of providing close fire support to main battle tanks against infantry and light armor threats in urban and complex terrain.
